Blood pressure ups and downs, and sorting out the "whys" and "what-to-dos" about it is like playing a guessing game. We try one thing, then another, not sure what the results will be. We take prescription medications, try dieting, eat healthy foods, take herbs, exercise, try fish oil, and many other things, hoping to improve our health and have a normal reading.

What helps one person, though, may not help another. We are all different and that's where it becomes a guessing game.

Not To Be Ignored

High Blood Pressure, also called Hypertension, is one of those things we can inherit from our parents. There is usually no way to know exactly what has caused someone to have this problem. The important thing is to know if you have hypertension and to take care of the problem. We don't want to ignore it. It's serious business.

Me? I Have High BP?

Well, once I accepted the fact that I had a problem, I had to deal with it. I have tried to figure out what works.

I practice weight control, eat right, make myself exercise, get enough sleep, minimize stress, practice relaxation, avoid salt (sometimes), and try to practice other healthy habits.

I monitor my weight, my blood pressure, and my food intake. I'll be covering these and a variety of other subjects related to this issue as I develop my website.

I Hate Taking Pills

I will also talk about blood pressure medication. I did not want to take it at the beginning, but, there are some very serious reasons to take medication and to take it regularly. I will be covering some of those reasons.

Helping Each Other Make It Through

I certainly don't have all the answers, but, I do have some experiences and a bit of knowledge to share.

Hopefully, I will answer a few of your questions, and maybe inspire some to follow a more healthful lifestyle, resulting in better numbers, whether monitored at the doctor's office or at home. Do always check with your health care provider before making health changes.
